Getty Communications (www.getty-images.com) and IBM Corp. (www.ibm.com) have created a digital image distribution system designed to improve copyright protection online. Getty also introduced a Web-based version of its archival image service with the expectation of offering access to 500,000 pictures online by the end of 1998.
