The Enhanced Domain Name System, also known as eDNS (www.edns.net) is doing business, giving applicants new top-level domains, including .biz, .corp, .per and .web. Before eDNS, domain name registry had been handled exclusively by InterNIC, a service run by Network Solutions Inc. in Herndon, Va., under contract to the National Science Foundation.
